Thailand Khao Lak Beach is quite small, tucked away at the southern end of this string of beaches. Just behind the beach one can see Khao Lak Mountain, which gives it name to the area. There's a Chinese shrine dedicated to the wizard of the mountain. Thailand Khao Lak has become very popular with visitors who are on the lookout for a quiet and relaxing atmosphere and Khao lak promises that as there are no bars and other loud entertainment close to the beach. The beaches in the Khao Lak area are more of private beaches, as for most of the beaches, there is no public access as the hotels own all of the beachfront land. From the beaches close by, there are lush green hills within the National Park with many unique species of plants and wildlife. This hilly region has some lovely waterfalls such as Saeng Thong, Lam Roo and Chong Fa.
