Thailand khao lak is a resort beach in Thailand, and a part of the Khao Lak National Park, located 100 km north of Phuket in Phang Nga province. The region is a beautiful stretch of sand full of boulders facing the Andaman Sea, and is situated at about an hours drive north from Phuket. The area was declared a national

park in 1991 and occupies a huge area of 125 square kilometers comprises of Thai Muang, Kapong, Takua Pa and Muang districts of Phang Nga Province. The beach region is popular for acting as a departure point for liveaboard scuba diving trips. The coast line here has a west-facing, sandy beach with tropical forest and rubber plantations on the hill slopes beyond the sand.

Thailand Khao Lak Beach is quite small, tucked away at the southern end of this string of beaches. Just behind the beach one can see Khao Lak Mountain, which gives it name to the area. There's a Chinese shrine dedicated to the wizard of the mountain. Thailand Khao Lak has become very popular with visitors who are on the lookout for a quiet and relaxing atmosphere and Khao lak promises that as there are no bars and other loud entertainment close to the beach. The beaches in the Khao Lak area are more of private beaches, as for most of the beaches, there is no public access as the hotels own all of the beachfront land. From the beaches close by, there are lush green hills within the National Park with many unique species of plants and wildlife. This hilly region has some lovely waterfalls such as Saeng Thong, Lam Roo and Chong Fa.
